Morgan, the Boer buck...when he was touched by an angel!

How Donovan's Dairy & Meat Goats Started

Brian started raising dairy goats as a 4-H project in 1991.  A few years later came the meat goats.  He has since grown up, gone to college and become an Ag. teacher.  Meanwhile Jackie inherited a herd of goats.  We moved to Sonora, CA a few years ago; now we can sit on our front deck and watch the goats, sure is better than the "commute" to the goats we had before the move.

For many years our herd name was "Double-Rainbow" after Brian's favorite ice cream.  Several years ago, we changed the name to Donovan's.

Last year we sold all of our meat goats and now have nubian and la mancha dairy goats.

Over the years many fine goats have been bred.  One of them, "Double Rainbow Magic Sox" who was sold to Cheryl and Jay Eason was named All-American Dry Yearling by the National La Mancha Club.

When we get new photos we will include current photos.

All does are tested annually for CAE and have been negative at each test.

One of these days in my spare time I will include a page of "old" photos of some of the goats we have bred over the years.
